It’s been raining most of the afternoon, so I’ve spent the day with my acoustic guitar learning a new song for my repertoire. Had a whack at recording it, it’s not perfect but it’s mine!

Possibly my favorite handover ever tonight. I do love Andy Butler though.
I’m not particularly spiritual and I’m anything but religious, but ghosts have me stumped. I don’t know where I stand on them. My head tells me to stop being so stupid, once you’re dead, you’re dead. You’re a corpse in the ground. It makes most sense to me to believe that, but there’s always a piece of me that isn’t sure.
The place I’m staying in Derby is built on the site of an old prison, as you can see from the snap above I took this afternoon, the prison gate is still standing. The site of public hangings. I’ve read some sources that cite this place as one of the most haunted places in the world.
While you read the following story, bear in mind I knew all this information before hand and it all could merely be a placebo. Begin ghost story/ experience:
I went to sleep last night, just like any other night. But I had a really vivid dream. It wasn’t like a normal dream, when I think back to it, it doesn’t have the fuzzy coating dreams have, it was more like a memory.
The dream was from a first-person point of view, however I was not myself. I had all my senses and could “hear” thoughts like you do in your head. It was a different time, some time in the past, in a place I didn’t know. Non of the details of the dream are missing but they did not run in real time.
I could write all the details, but the short of it is that I murdered two people in separate incidents. They were both stabbings to the stomach. As I said, it was like I was remembering all this rather than making it up in my imagination.
Now this is where it gets possibly silly: my explanation of what could have happened and you cynics are going to have a nice laugh. I think that, maybe, when your mind is fully-open to the idea of ghosts you have a traditional sighting. Headless horseman in your living room ect. But that’s not the case with me, hence why I haven’t seen one in that way. However, when I’m asleep and my subconscious is running things, I do believe in spirits and it was able to get in this way. Then the spirit, a convicted murderer at the prison which I’m now sleeping on, came in to my mind and played back his memories to me.
I would normally dismiss it as an out-of-character dream if it weren’t for the “memory” qualities of it and the fact that I woke up with a sharp pain in my chest, like I had been stabbed, that I have never experienced before. Is it possible for a dream to have physical inflictions on you?
So I’m about to go to sleep in the same place again. Anyone have a dream catcher?
